Both the educators and the directors of Maritime Gloucester believe that exploration, inspiration and motivation are the secrets to connecting students to the ocean and the sciences. They are proud that their programs and educational approach to the working waterfront of Gloucester harbor are motivating today's young to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math as well as the traditional maritime trades.

This video was used as a "roll-in" to a speech given by Tom Balf at the 2012 Gala Dinner to illustrate the valueof their approach to STEM education. This was the "approval copy" of the video prior to final polish and release.
